LEGOLAND Windsor – Zig Zag Stream Improvements

The Zig Zag Stream Improvements project formed part of the ongoing enhancement of the guest experience at LEGOLAND Windsor, focusing on the iconic entrance pathway that provides visitors with their first impression of the resort. Located within a high-profile area close to the main entrance, the scheme required careful planning and meticulous attention to detail to ensure a high-quality finish while maintaining safe access for guests throughout construction.

The works involved a complete refurbishment of the first section of the Zig Zag pathway, including the installation of new edgings, upgraded pavement construction, and new asphalt surfacing. Foundations and service infrastructure were constructed to accommodate new LEGO model displays, helping to enhance the visual appeal of this key arrival route.

A major feature of the project was the creation of a new coloured resin stream, designed to complement the surrounding themed environment. This element required the installation of associated service infrastructure and the construction of a new plant room to support the operation of the feature. Additional works included the installation of new seating areas, decorative rock features, and extensive landscaping to further enhance the appearance of the attraction.

Given the location at one of the busiest areas of the resort, the pathway improvements were delivered in two carefully planned phases, allowing safe pedestrian access to be maintained while construction activities progressed. Close coordination with the resort team ensured minimal disruption to day-to-day operations and guest movements.

This was a project where attention to detail and quality of finish were paramount. From the precision of the surfacing works to the integration of themed features and landscaping, every element contributed to the overall visitor experience. The team embraced the challenge and delivered a scheme that significantly enhances one of the most recognisable areas of the resort, creating a welcoming and visually striking entrance environment for guests.
